My family and I are from the Akoi village in Madhya Pradesh. We came to the medical camp in Sendhwa with my sister Sunita. Six years ago, my sister got badly burnt, when her clothes caught on fire. She lost the ability to use her right hand, due to the severe burns. We took her to many hospitals, hoping to help her in some way. But the funds required for her operation were way beyond our means. It broke our hearts that our poverty ensured we could never get such a large sum from anywhere. It was when we were in deep despair over what to do, that we heard of the free surgical medical camp in Sendhwa. We received so much love and care from the medical team! The doctors checked our sister’s hand and decided to conduct the operation on the 4th of April. Her first operation was a success! We are grateful to the Navjeevan Surgical team, who gave my sister new hope. We are grateful to have had this opportunity to get such care and treatment for our sister.
