The Nabrangpur Hospital stood as a beacon of hope in February 2024, as it hosted the first Surgery Camp of the year. Over an impressive four-day period, the hospital became a hub of medical activity and compassion, successfully conducting 61 surgeries. The camp’s reach was far and wide, with many individuals undertaking journeys of over 100 kilometres to receive medical care, a testament to their determination and the camp’s reputation.
The first day of the camp was particularly noteworthy. Approximately 30 patients, who had not been pre-screened, arrived at the hospital, drawn by the promise of quality medical attention. This influx of unexpected patients highlighted the profound need for such medical camps and the trust placed in them by the community.
The camp was graced by the expertise of Dr. Sampath Karl, a renowned Paediatric Surgeon from CMC, whose presence added immense value to the paediatric care provided. Alongside him was Dr. Timothy, a dedicated surgery student, who contributed his skills and learning to the camp’s success. Their combined efforts ensured that the camp operated at the highest standards of medical care.
Among the many stories of hope and healing, two patients’ journeys stood out. These individuals, part of the surgery camp, exemplified the life-changing impact of the medical services provided. Their stories, though unique, shared a common thread of resilience and the transformative power of healthcare.
